Undergraduate entry

Please note that 2008 was the last intake for our MBBS/BMedSc undergraduate entry program.

Cutoffs for 2008

For those interested in the processes for our final undergraduate entry intake, selection was based on ENTER (96 or higher required) or equivalent, performance in UMAT, results in prerequisite subjects (study score of 35 or higher required), and results in any tertiary level studies. Three ranked listings were established from which offers were made commencing from the highest ranked person on each list until all streams had generated the required number of offers:

• ENTER stream - applicants with the highest ENTER scores and a weighted UMAT above the 20th percentile
• UMAT stream - applicants with the highest weighted UMAT scores and an ENTER of 96 or higher
• ENTER/UMAT stream - applicants based on a combination of the ENTER and weighted UMAT rank

Weighted UMAT

The standardised study scores were taken for each of the three sections for all who took UMAT in 2007. In calculating the weighted UMAT score, Section 1 was given a double weighting and Sections 2 and 3 were given single weightings. The results were then ranked in numerical order of this overall weighted UMAT. The 20th percentile was then calculated from the bottom of this ranked list.
