For Staff

Staff of the School of Medicine who wish to supervise research higher degree students are advised that training is compulsory (under Faculty and University Policies).

A list of approved training appears below:

The types of training considered suitable to meet the Faculty’s requirement are:

  • MSGR-MDHS Supervision Seminar
  • MSGR Supervision Skills Workshop
  • Supervisors Round Table
  • MSGR Off-campus Supervisors Seminar
  • MSGR Supervision Workshops:

    • Bring out the Best in your Student
    • Co-supervision & the Advisory Committee
    • Confirmation: Strategies for Success
    • Cross-Cultural Issues in Supervision
    • Effective management of Candidature
    • PhD Examination Process

  • Supervision Training conducted by another University will be considered for external or recently recruited staff.
