Doctor of Medicine - first intake 2011

As the University moves to the Melbourne Model, our six year undergraduate degree (MBBS/BMedSc) and four and a half year graduate degree (MBBS) will be phased out and replaced with a new four year postgraduate degree, the Doctor of Medicine (MD), which will begin in 2011.

The Doctor of Medicine will consist of one year on-campus study in the biosciences and three years in clinical schools.

The timeline for change is:

• 2008 - final intake for school leavers into MBBS/BMedSc
• 2009 - final intake for graduates into MBBS
• 2010 - no intake
• 2011 - first intake into the new Doctor of Medicine
