Students from Universitas IndonesiaThe University of Melbourne invites students studying Medicine at Universitas Indonesia (UI) to apply for admission to the Advanced Medical Science (AMS) program. Each year a cohort of students from UI undertakes AMS alongside University of Melbourne students. Successful students receive a Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSc) from the University of Melbourne. UI students arrive mid-June and undertake an orientation program followed by an academic bridging course (assessed). Students then begin their AMS year with University of Melbourne students by commencing one of the research methods subjects. UI students have a different assessment breakdown from University of Melbourne students, but the completion of a Research Report remains a hurdle requirement. Please see Assessment for further details. The Assistant AMS Coordinator, Dr Justin Bilszta, organises the allocation of students to units, and assists with the setting up of meetings between students and supervisors once students have arrived. Meetings and site visits usually occur during the bridging course. A limited number of units will be available, which will differ from year to year. Contact: Dr Justin Bilszta |
