Overall Objectives

A major aim is the appreciation of current research issues in trauma, burns and intensive care management. Depending on the focus of their project, students will receive general training in laboratory techniques, clinical measurement or epidemiological methods. The student will learn how to work within a multidisciplinary research team, design research proposals, critically assess the literature, present oral presentations of their research, collect and analyse data and produce a written report suitable for publication. If not directly completing a clinical project the student will be encouraged to link the project to clinical implications and attend ward rounds and clinical meeting.
