Unsatisfactory Progress
If your research report is assessed as being unsatisfactory, you will be required to undertake an oral defence of the work to the Advanced Medical Science Co-ordinating Group.
Wherever possible, this body should be supplemented with a member of the department / institute / body where the research was performed. If this is not possible, a representative of a similar or related department / institute affiliated with the School will be co-opted to the group.
This will comprise a 20 minute presentation about the project and 10 minutes of questioning.
If, after this process, satisfactory performance has not been demonstrated, the student will be referred to the School of Medicine Progress Committee.
If there is unsatisfactory performance in a coursework element, the established remedial processes (including additional tests and / or supplementary examination) for that subject may apply. If these are not completed successfully, the student will be referred to the School of Medicine Progress Committee.
