Getting StartedYour primary source of information on the options available to you for your AMS year is this website. Each department or institute involved with Advanced Medical Science has submitted a unit description. The description outlines the type of research to be undertaken, any required coursework, and the method of assessment. We encourage you to start thinking about your AMS year early in Semester three. During the first semester of each year, units are invited to present at information sessions held every Monday at 1pm in the Sunderland Lecture theatre. A timetable is available on Topclass, and reminders are posted the week preceding each session. You are also advised to consult the web-site of the host department or institution (if available) and to talk to the Unit Coordinators, to obtain further details of these units, Independent Units It is also possible to set up an independent unit, that is, a unit that is not advertised on the AMS website. Overseas Units All AMS units will be provided with the same funding to help cover their cost of hosting your placement, regardless of location. There are no additional funds to cover expenses related to distance. Therefore, if you are contemplating an interstate/overseas unit , remember that you will need to cover all related (living) costs (airfare, accommodation, meals, etc). |
