Fieldwork

Local

We would like to keep track of all of the activities students are involved in, particularly in off-site locations. As a part of this, we ask units to complete a Field Trip/ Excursion Application Form prior to the commencement of any fieldwork or excursions more than 50km outside of your rural or metropolitan area. This form provides us with the details of the intended fieldwork (location and purpose), the off-site supervisor's name and emergency contact details, as well as an outline of any potential hazards/risks, and an assurance that all necessary safety measures will be taken where students' safety is concerned.

International

If your unit entails overseas fieldwork, we ask that you complete and submit to us an International Fieldwork Application form at the earliest opportunity (at least six weeks prior to the intended departure). This application needs to be reviewed by the AMS Task Group in reference to University guidelines and Department of Foreign Affairs recommendations. You must also sign and return a Student Agreement form, provide us with your itinerary and travel insurance details, and read through AMS Abroad which provides essential information on your responsibilities when going overseas.
