5. The Thomas and Elizabeth Ross Scholarship

Prizes


The University of Melbourne Medical Society AMS Prize

Two Prizes ($500 each) are awarded each year for the highest-ranked Bachelor of Medical Science Research Reports for the year, as determined by the AMS Committee. The winning Report will be bound and deposited in Ballieu Library. The winning student will receive a Citation on parchment, a copy of which will be published in the journal Chiron.

The Carl de Gruchy Prize

A prize to the value of $500 may be awarded annually to the AMS student who submits the best project report in the field of Medical History, as judged by the Director of the Johnstone Need Medical History Unit.

Donor: Miss Denise de Gruchy, of Kew in the State of Victoria to commemorate her brother, the late Professor Carl de Gruchy, Professor at St. Vincent's Hospital from 1962 to 1969.

The Stewart Bequest

Three awards annually to students entering the AMS year undertaking coursework and research in the field of Anatomy, Surgery, or Medicine with the highest aggregate mark in the immediately preceeding semester. [R6.25]
Each scholarship is to have the value of one third of the net annual income of the fund.
